Unlike your typical pet insurance provider, The Vets offers comprehensive wellness coverage. From routine check-ups to vaccinations, their policies cover a wide range of veterinary services.

The Total Wellness membership plan offers 12-month proactive coverage that includes exams and vaccinations. On the down side, this plan does not include emergency or sick care. That said, all customers pay a flat rate for coverage, regardless of the pet’s age, breed, or pre-existing conditions. Here’s what’s included:

The Vets digital platform helps connect pet owners with licensed veterinarians for medical home visits for pets. Their website conveniently helps book and manage appointments as well as communicate with your vet. You can easily look for vets in your area and schedule appointments through the website. Step 1: Schedule your home visit on booking.thevets.com

Step 2: Complete an initial phone assessment with a booking agent from The Vets

Step 3: Prepare for your appointment by completing pre-appointment recommendations

Step 4: On the appointment day, a veterinarian and a veterinary technician will arrive at your home. Appointments for one pet usually last between 30 to 90 minutes.

Step 5: A post-appointment follow up includes delivery of any prescribed medications and lab results.

Step 6: Your vet will follow up from time to time to check in on your pet’s well-being.

The Vets offers a membership plan with affordable wellness treatments at $99 monthly. The Total Wellness membership plan bundles recommended annual preventative care needs into 12 affordable monthly payments.

For Adult or Senior Dogs and Cats

In addition, The Vets offers both core and non-core vaccinations. They ask that customers call in advance prior to their appointment to confirm any necessary vaccinations. The Vets can also help with your travel needs by offering both domestic and international travel certificates.

Limitations

The Vets can set you up with at-home veterinary appointments for wellness exams. However, The Vets does not provide emergency services or sick care. These appointments do not include emergency treatments that require imaging such as x-rays or MRIs. If your pet has an emergency, The Vets can help determine the next steps. Keep in mind that The Vets membership is an annual subscription. Membership packages that were already used are not cancellable or refundable.

Cost

Typically, pet insurance companies will charge customers based on the health, breed, and age of your pet and pricing can vary widely. Not the case with The Vets. The company has straightforward pricing and charges a single rate to all of its members regardless of any pre-existing conditions that your pet might have.

Adult Plan - $99 monthly per pet

Includes three home visits, two pet exams, vaccinations, preventative treatments, and annual lab tests.

Puppy/Kitten Plan - $99 monthly per pet

Includes three home visits, three pet exams, vaccinations, preventative treatments, and annual lab tests.

All members enjoy access to the tele-advice chat line as well as guaranteed priority appointments for home visits.

House Calls

If you prefer the convenience of staying at home, or your pet is sensitive to clinical treatment, you can book at-home appointments through The Vets. During each visit, a veterinary team will perform a thorough pet exam and recommend any additional services your pet might need.
